3D modeling industry works with schools

It seems like a good ideal based off what I’ve read about it in 3D World magazine. Cgcoach.com is a website that offers students a free 10 week critique period from industry professionals from studios like Animal Logic and Passion Pictures.
The students make a proposal for the projects that they would like to work on and then the staff at the student’s school decides what project to submit. After that, the students get critiques and help from their mentor at cgcoach.com.
I have been reading a lot about the industry complaining that students are not coming out of schools ready for a job. I have also seen many responses telling the pros if they have a problem with it they should lend a hand or at least let the schools know what skills are coming in demand. I think sites like this are a step in the right direction.
At this time, the site is in private beta testing. The site should be available internationally to schools in 2009.

Router Blues

So the other day my 5 year old router was on it's death bed. My Internet usage wasn't affected, but my ability to play games online had come to a halt. I never really realized how much of an online gamer I am. I didn't feel like playing any single player game. I only wanted to play some Gears of War 2 with my brother, EQ2 with classmates or maybe some World of Warcraft with my old shipmates. I want to play fallout 3, but I just can't get over playing games online with real people. I could have ran a cable directly to from my modem to my computer but I decided to wait until I fixed the problem. To feel productive I decided to work on my 3DS Max (3D modeling software) homework. That keep me busy for a little bit.I have replaced the router with a new Belkin router with a nice screen that gives me a bunch of updates like bandwith usage and how many pc's are using my wireless internet. I love it. Well I just wanted to give a little update. bye for now and back to GEARS OF WAR 2!

Joe Twitter

I started to use Twitter not to long ago. Today I just started using Twitter with my cell phone. Twitter is something new and interesting to me. I can at anytime get a update from my friends on what they are doing. I also follow some famous people like Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Britney Spears, and MC Hammer. Some of my favorites are in the Gaming and Tech community like Cliff Bleszinski, Xbox's own Major Nelson, John C. Dvorak and Kevin Rose.
With so many famous names using Twitter one would think that Twitter is well known. I asked friends, family, coworkers (Navy ship with 300 + sailors) about Twitter and only ONE knew what I was talking about.
I wonder if Twitter will ever become a common name everyone knows about. Podcast are very useful and informative and have been around for years, but do most people even know what a podcast truly is? I love podcast and I might even start my own one day. I still talk to people that have no clue what podcasting is all about let alone know how to subscribe to one.
I think that most of the people that blog, twit, or podcast are just Tech lovers like myself. Alot of the people I follow on Twitter have podcast that I listen too. As a matter of fact I only heard of Twitter from listening to a podcast.
If you would like to see what I'm up too here is my twitter address http://twitter.com/kascrz check it out!
